Regulation Updates for October:

1. Qatar CRA annouced that that third-generation mobile telecommunications services (IMT-2000) will cease by December 31, 2025. Additionally, phones that support only WWAN 2G and 3G will be banned from importation.

2. Nigeria NCC published a Type Approval Business Rules in August 2024. Important information include a new labeling requirement (shown as below) for all type approved equipment. E-label is allowed in place of a physical label on the devices with a display, but must also have a label on the packaging.

3. Vietnam MIC published a Draft Circular QCVN 135:2024/BTTTT for surveillance cameras using Internet protocol (IP) on August 23, 2024. Starting January 1, 2026, it will be mandatory for IP cameras to obtain type approval.

4. South Africa ICASA published the plan to close 2G and 3G networks.

5. India BIS issued a standard, IS 15558:2024, for Instaneous domestic water heater for use with LPG on July 4, 2024. The old standard will expire on January 4, 2025.

6. Brazil ANATEL annouced at the end of September that certificate expired for more than 180 days (6 months) will no longer be renewed, and a new application with testing will be needed.Please refer to the WeChat Public Account 【CTI Electronic Technology Division】for monthly Worldwide Approval Newsletters
